Mission Statement: To connect, inspire, and support Vietnamese-American Youth in Cleveland

Vision: We will better the lives of young Vietnamese Americans in Cleveland through personal support and learning together. 

Goals:

• Create a safe space for young Vietnamese Americans

• Support young Vietnamese Americans to be successful in the fields they are passionate about

• Support young Vietnamese Americans to find what they are passionate about

• Utilize our online network to provide inspiration and resources for young Vietnamese Americans

Examples of what Flourish does/could do:

• Translation Service Program

  • Within Flourish is our “Translation Service Program,” where members volunteer and assist community members with translation services

  • Members can receive stipends for their work

  • Members can also solely opt for volunteer hours

• Showcase Page

  • Flourish has a page dedicated to showcasing work done by members

    • Motivates members to pursue their dreams

    • Useful for college/job applications

  • Flourish creates scholarships and competitions for members to win

    • Useful for college/job applications

• With these goals in mind, we can bring structure and opportunities for people to explore/delve into career options

• Those interested in journalism and/or writing could use our website to write articles about various issues in our community (mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, political pieces, reclaiming the community for ourselves, etc.)

• Those interested in medicine can connect with Vietnamese medical students/research assistants. They can also be connected to shadowing, volunteering, and translating for Vietnamese people in hospitals.

• Those interested in computer science can also help with the website or practice creative computer science projects that can be published on the site.

• Those interested in business can be in charge of donations/treasury.

• Any other interests: members can present and educate the group on the career they are passionate about.

• Plan food/clothing drives

• Plan fundraisers

• Help figure out what the community wants.
