Mission Statement: To connect, inspire, and support Vietnamese-American Youth in Cleveland

Vision: We will better the lives of young Vietnamese Americans in Cleveland through personal support and learning together. 

Goals:

• Create a safe space for young Vietnamese Americans

• Help young Vietnamese Americans learn more about how to be successful in the fields they are passionate about

• Utilize our online network to educate people about issues that challenge our community

• Reclaim the Vietnamese Community in Cleveland for the Vietnamese in media

Examples of what Flourish would/could do:

• With these goals in mind, we can bring structure and opportunities for people to explore/delve into career options

• Those interested in journalism and/or writing could use our website to write articles about various issues in our community (mental health, drug and alcohol abuse, political pieces, reclaiming the community for ourselves, etc.)

• Those interested in medicine can connect with Vietnamese medical students/research assistants. They can also be connected to shadowing, volunteering, and translating for Vietnamese people in hospitals.

• For more volunteer hours, especially for those interested in applying to college, we can offer tutoring or even food/clothing drives/fundraisers

• Those interested in computer science can also help with the website or practice creative computer science projects that can be published on the site.

• Those interested in arts can participate in community art competitions and help design clothes to sell as funding for charities/the community house.

• Those interested in business can be in charge of donations/treasury.

• Any other interests: members can present and educate the group on the career they are passionate about.

• Help figure out what the community wants.
